When people think of a bar they usually tend to think of a “pick-up” spot or “meat market” they never really associate romance. So…why miss out on the “Valentine’s Day spending frenzy” and a romantic touch to your spot! Don’t be left out in the cold on Valentine’s Day and allow all of the restaurants to dominate the business, step your game up and pull the love birds in!
After giving this some thought, I have a few inexpensive ideas that can turn your bar into “lovers lane” in the mean time your single customers will still have a great time as well.
Let us begin with creating the ambiance. Take a minute to revamp your seating arrangement, if you have tables take a few of them along with two chairs and place them simultaneously around the room (i.e. in the corners of the room etc.), purchase or rent a few table cloths (nothing too expensive, or fancy), purchase a few candles and place them in the center of the tables (preferably a lavender scent, after all lavender has been proven to be very relaxing). The next suggestion is not essential however, it would enhance the romantic ambiance you have already created, have something smooth playing in the background, whether it be jazz, soft rock, or rhythm and blues, it’s always nice to have a tasty cocktail over candle light, good company, and some smooth music playing in the background.
My next suggestion is to create a lovers drink menu, and with it being Valentine’s Day an ideal theme would be “A Fun Way To Do Chocolate”. Which you should know I am no stranger to sharing a few drink recipes, I rather enjoy it!
So in the event some of you bar managers would like to put my advice to the test let’s get started on your romantic drink menu.
Chocolate Kiss
1 oz Vanilla Vodka
1 oz Vodka
2 oz Daily’s Divine Chocolate Liqueur
Shake vigorously over ice and strain into martini glass
Garnish by dipping rim of martini glass into Kahlua and then in chocolate sugar
Love Fudge
2 oz Rum
½ oz Triple Sec
½ oz Daily’s Divine Chocolate Liqueur
½ oz Daily’s Mocha Mudslide Mix
Shake vigorously over ice and strain into martini glass
Garnish with chocolate shavings
White Chocolate Kiss
1 ½ oz Espresso flavor Vodka
½ oz White Crème de Cocoa
½ oz Daily’s Divine A La Mode
Shake vigorously over ice and strain into martini glass
Garnish with either a chocolate sugar rim and drop a chocolate kiss in the center of martini glass
And for those customers who do not necessarily have a taste for chocolate, I have a tasty treat for them too..
Aphrodisiac
1 oz Malibu Passion Fruit Rum
1 oz Coconut Rum
Splash of Daily’s Mango Daiquiri
Splash of Daily’s Lime Juice
Pineapple Juice
Cranberry Juice
Shake all ingredients and pour over ice filled high ball glass
Garnish with a pineapple wedge
Don’t think I have forgotten about your love birds that may come in that are “die hard” and may want something a little stronger (like myself), I have a few shot recipes for them.
Cupid’s Arrow
1 oz Vodka
½ oz Raspberry Liqueur
½ oz Daily’s Lime Juice
1/2/ oz Daily’s Sweet and Sour
Shake vigorously over ice and strain into shot glass
Well folks…these are a few of my personal ideas to keep the bar business busy on Valentine’s Day. My final suggestion is to put the wheels in motion at least a week ahead of time, start promoting your “Lover’s Lane” ideas now, and watch your profit grow!
